COMPANY PROFILE

In 1996, SST (Sunlite Science & Technology, Inc.) was founded in California as an LED chip and wafer manufacturing company.  In its early years, SST used Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) technology to fabricate LED chips that were sold to assembly companies.  In 2000, SST won the Competitive Award from the Kansas Enterprises Technology Corporation to develop Aluminum-Indium-Gallium-Phosphide (AlInGaP) High Brightness LED (HB-LED) products using MOCVD.s an LED chip and wafer manufacturing company.  In its early years, SST used Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) technology to fabricate LED chips that were sold to assembly companies.  In 2000, SST won the Competitive Award from the Kansas Enterprises Technology Corporation to develop Aluminum-Indium-Gallium-Phosphide (AlInGaP) High Brightness LED (HB-LED) products using MOCVD.

Armed with expertise in LED chip manufacturing, SST began to design and package its own LED and Laser products in 2004. SST started its UV LED adhesive curing unit in 2005. SST utilizes its patented application-specific LED (AS LED) technology and vertical integration in its manufacturing process and controls all aspects of its LED and Laser product design and production.

In 2013, SST partnered with Fujifilm on ink and varnish UV LED curing for printing industry. The developed UV LED Curing System utilizes the Patented COLDCURE LED technology. It represents the most efficient UV-LED system on the market, new or retrofit. The SST COLDCURE LED Curing system can be used for printing on shrink film without the need of chill roller.

Comparing to traditional UV LED curing system, which place their packaged LEDs on a Metal Core Printed Circuit Board (MC-PCB) and use secondary lens, SST COLDCURE LED design place LED chips directly on heat sink and uses single quartz lens to maximize the light output.

SST’s LED Curing Systems are Designed, Engineered and Manufactured in Kansas.

SST has a 21,000 ftoffice headquarters & warehouse building

SST is proud to innovate and continually design products for a variety of unique applications. In 2015 SST’s proposal to design Switching Electronics for Space-based Telescopes with Advanced Adaptive Optic (AO) Systems was selected for a NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I Award. After Phase I was successfully completed, SST continued Phase II to design and fabricate two 32X32 switch array from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, SST’s proposal “Linear Regulators for Efficiently Driving a Deformable Mirror” was again selected for a NASA SBIR Phase I Award. After Phase I was successfully completed, SST was awarded SBIR Phase II Award in 2020.
